Nelson McCausland opens new £140,000 Crèche at Footprints Women’s Centre

Social Development Minister, Nelson McCausland officially opened our Crèche.

The £140,000 extension to the Centre was fully funded under the Department for Social Development's Neighbourhood Renewal Investment Programme. As well as providing places for up to 18 children the new crèche has a separate family room for families in need of additional support.

Minister McCausland said: "This extension will be of tremendous benefit to the women and families who use this facility and enables the Centre to extend the vital community places they provide.

"By helping to remove barriers to employment, such as inadequate access to child care, the centre allows local women to work and improve the quality of life for their family, their extended family and their local community."

Gillian, our Centre Director said: "We wish to thank the Department for Social Development for their ongoing support that enables the Centre to play a full and active role in the regeneration of the Colin Neighbourhood."
